KORONADAL CITY -
South Cotabato's first FM station is celebrating its 22nd birthday today with a
commitment and renewed dynamism to bring happiness to the people of ‘Land of
Famous Highlands’ through music, news, information and entertainment.

DXOM-FM officially
conquered the airwaves of this city and South Cotabato’s 10 municipalities on July
22, 1993 as part of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) broadcast media
ministry.

We have been making the
airwaves beautiful with the Happy FM kind of music, we’ve spent years sharing ideas
with our audience, we provided them the ingredients to come up with intelligence
decisions on issues, and learned a lot as well,” Agnes Myra Pinol, DXOM Happy
FM station manager, said.

As DXOM Happy
celebrates natal day, it continues to derive strength from its listeners by offering
holy mass for the blissful years.

Fr. Jonathan Domingo,
OMI, chief executive officer of Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation (NDBC),
celebrate the Holy Eucharist with NDBC Koronadal personnel and staff. All
throughout the day, listeners are fitted with giveaways as a way of saying thank
you” to its audience. Evolution of DXOM-FM In 1998, DXOM-FM, the
third FM station of Notre Dame Broadcasting Corporation, started using the Hot
Radio” brand capturing most of radio audience in the locality despite the entry
of more FM stations.

It first
revolutionized the FM programming by putting in news and current affairs
program in its morning slots and all-news and music from mid-morning until
evening.

In 2002, DXOM-FM
embraced a new branding Radio for Peace,” with its vision focused on peace
building and inter-religious dialogues among different faiths in its coverage area.

In 2009, DXOM-FM
started using the tagline Tayo pa rin, Siyempre,” encouraging radio listeners
to revive Filipino ideals of holding together against all odds. Another tagline
was used in 2011, putting emphasis on the quality of music the station gives to
its listeners amid the entry of more FM station. Basta Manami Nga Tukar, Hot
Radio Gid Inah! (If it’s good music, it is Hot Radio)

In July 2012, the
station was rebranded again as 91.7 FM Dito Happy Ka!” and its popularity rose
among listeners fittingly described as chief executive listeners (CELs).”

With Fr. Domingo at
the helm, Happy FM has evolved from regular FM radio to a more
competitive, trend setter, inspire and empower its CELs through credible news, information
and entertainment, responsible journalism and deliver superior value to its
partners.

We have set the
trend, we give breaking news responsibly, we provide information our CELs need
and make them come up with wise decisions on issues directly and indirectly
affecting them,” Pinol said, adding that credit should go to CELs for they are the reasons DXOM-FM reached this far.
