Cops hunting suspect in cop murder stumble carnapped motorbikes yard in SK

KORONADAL CITY - The search for carnapping and murder suspects ledto the discovery of carnapped motorcyles yardin a remote village of Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat, early morning of Tuesday. Elements of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Highway Patrol Group, Regional Public Safety Company and Provincial Public Safety Company of Sultan Kudarat Police went to the village of Ilian in Esperanza townto arrest the suspects in the killing of SPO4 Ruben Sabado. Police Inspector Christian Garcia, CIDG Sultan Kudarat provincial director, said the unidentified suspects fled before they arrived in the area at about 3 a.m.But lawmen were surprised to discover several motorcycles believed to be carnapped with tampered parts, no license plates, many were chopped. Somebody texted us that the suspects in the killing of SPO4 Sabado are hiding in the area, we immediately organized a team and proceeded to Ilian, we were not able to arrest the suspect, instead we have discovered more or less 14 carnapped vehicles in their hideout”, Garcia told DXOM FM Koronadal Tuesday. SPO4 Ruben Sabado who was assigned at the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Headqarters was gunned down by two motorcycle riding suspects while on his way home at the village of Laguinding, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat on Sunday Evening. His Honda XR 200 motorcyle was taken by the fleeing suspects. The victim was dead on arrival at a private hospital in Esperanza due to gunshot wounds in his chest and abdomen. With the help of the highway patrol group, CIDG conducted validation and discovered that the chassis and engine numbers of the motorcyles discovered were tampered with. Garcia believed the motorcycles now in the custody of CIDG Sultan Kudarat were stolen from various places in Mindanao. Garcia appealed to possible owners of carnapped vehicles to coordinate with CIDG Sultan Kudarat and show proof they legally own the motorcycles.
