Midsayap family land dispute triggered stabbing, 1 dead

MIDSAYAP,
North Cotabato – A deeply seated land dispute triggered stabbing incident
involving siblings that left one of the protagonists dead.

Senior
Inspector Henry Narciso, Midsayap deputy police chief, identified the fatality
as Robero Laman, 34, single and resident of Barangay Central Glad, Midsayap,
North Cotabato.

The
suspect was his younger brother Ben, 28.

Narciso
said Roberto was under the influence of liquor and confronted his father about
his share in the family owned farm lot at past 12 midnight Sunday.

During
the argument, Roberto allegedly hit his father that angered Ben who was also
nearby. Ben took a kitchen knife and
stab his elder brother several times.

Roberto
died on the spot. Ben surrendered to police and is now detained at Midsayap PNP
jail.
