Koronadal City LGU on alert ahead of New Year's revelry

KORONADAL CITY
-The Koronadal City government has
devised safety strategies as it prepares in welcoming the New Year, officials said
today.
Cyrus Urbano,
Koronadal City disaster risk reduction and management council (CDRRMC) action
officer, said the emergency unit had been placed on alert since Sunday to
attend to emergencies, should there be one.
We will be on
stand by and monitoring the situation 24/7,” Urbano told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida .
He said since
the start of Christmas season, his office has already submitted a contingency
plan to the office of Mayor Peter Miguel.
Also placed on
alert status are the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection,
Medical Team, Search and Rescue Volunteers.
Urbano
reminded the public to take personal safety measures in welcoming 2015.
Six cases of
firecracker related injuries were reported in Koronadal on Christmas eve.
