North Cotabato cops hunting down Maguindanao-based carnap gang

KIDAPAWAN CITY (Sept. 17) --Authorities in North Cotabato intensified their hunt of a carnapping group believed to be responsible for the series of motorcycle theft incidents in the area. Sr. Insp. Ramel Hojilla of the Cotabato Provincial Police Office (CPPO) said they have been closely monitoring the group whose hideout is located in Datu Piang, Maguindanao. The group, he said, is led by at least three men. One of the leaders was only identified as alias Mas.” At least eight members of the group were arrested recently.

Manny Pacquiao of Saranggani said he received information about the alleged plot that a bomb will be planted anytime and anywhere in thecity and alerted authorities.He was sad innocent civilians were hurt. Cotabato City under state of calamity

COTABATO CITY
(Sept. 16) – Eighteen of Cotabato City’s 37 barangays have been placed under state
of calamity following two weeks of flooding, the city government today said.

Lawyer Cynthia
Guiani-Sayadi, city administrator, said the floods that submerged low lying
villages have affected about 15,000 individuals.

But not all
of them have evacuated to other areas, most of them are home-based affected
families,” Sayadi said in a radio interview.

MAGPET,
North Cotabato (Sept. 16/NDBC)-- Three police officers were hurt when suspected
New Peoples Army (NPA) set off a roadside bomb in a remote village here Tuesday
morning, the Army said.

Capt.
Manuel Gatus, 57th Infantry Battalion spokesperson, said communist guerrillas operating
in Magpet-Arakan area planted the improvised bomb beside a dirt road between Barangay
Natutungan and Bagumbayan, both in Magpet, North Cotabato and set it off at 9
a.m. as the policemen were passing by.

President Aquino has issued Presidential Proclamation 875 declaringOctober 6, 2014 (Monday) as regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).Eid'ul Adha is one of the two great feasts of Islam.The official gazette said the date of the festival is based on the declaration made by Saudi Arabia's highest religious body.It was also the date the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended, the Palace announcement said.

Mlang indigents get livelihood from DOLE-12

MLANG, North Cotabato, (Sept. 16/NDBC) --It’s early Christmas presents for 126 beneficiaries of livelihood program here as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-12 has turnover their start-up capital to Mlang local government. Regional Director Ofelia Domingo, DOLE-12 chief personally released the check amounting to P1.7 million to Mayor Joselito Pinol, who represented the 126 beneficiaries,in a simple rite at the agency’s regional office in Koronadal City.

Tulunan flood victims get aid

TULUNAN,
North Cotabato (Sep 16/NDBC) – Around 640 families affected by recent flash
floods in two villages in Tulunan, North Cotabato received relief goods from
the provincial social welfare office.

Marchita
Capilitan, focal person of Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office
(PSWDO) 370 families from Barangay Minapan and another 270 families from
Barangay Damawato benefited from the relief assistance.

Koronadal laborer kills brother during drinking session

KORONADAL CITY,
(Sept. 16/NDBC) -- Police here have launched a manhunt against a man for
killing his own brother Saturday night during drinking spree in Barangay
Concepcion here, police said.

Gil Ayana, 43,
a laborer, stabbed to death his elder brother Ranie, 50, both are residence of
Purok Rizal, Barangay Concepcion, Koronadal City.

The Koronadal
City PNP said the suspect attacked his elder brother with a knife following a
heated argument during drinking session.Police could not say what issue the siblings have discussed.

Kabacan soldier, 2 others have leprosy

KIDAPAWAN CITY
(Sept. 16/NDBC)— A soldier and two other residents two villages ofKabacan,
North Cotabato have been found positive with leprosy bacteriaand are undergoing treatment, local health authorities said on Tuesday.

Rural Health Unit leprosy coordinator, said the victims suffering leprosy (Hansen's disease)were
residents of Barangays Dagupan and Banawag.
