MAKILALA, North Cotabato - An honest employee of the local government of Makilala, North Cotabato was awarded for returning a wallet containing P15,000 cash.Mayor Rudy Caoagdan commended Allan Javines, 43 years old from Sitio Patulangon, Barangay Malasila for his honesty in returning the wallet that he found together with a friend at the comfort room of the Rural Health Unit office here. Javines has been a driver of the Local Government Unit of Makilala for the past seven months assigned to Mayor Caoagdan.

Suspect in murder of retired professor surrenders

COTABATO CITY - Police here announced today the arrest of the alleged suspect in the murder of a retired professor university professor in her home in the city Friday last week.Senior Supt. Rex Anongos, city police director, said the alleged killer whom he refused to identify is now under police custody undergoing investigation.Anongos said the local officials helped convinced the suspect to surrender and face the charges to be filed against him.
