ALEOSAN, North Cotabato --Unidentified armed men, for still unknown motive, tried but failed to topple a steel tower of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) early on Wednesday morning, police said today. According to Supt. Bernard Tayong, speaking for North Cotabato police office, said three improvised explosive devices were attached to three posts of NGCP tower No. 63 in Purok 4, Barangay Pagangan. He said the same tower was bombed by still unidentified men on January 14 but it was not toppled. Tayong saidtwo IEDs exploded at about 12:20 a.m.

KORONADAL CITY - Officials of a government hospital here are investigating the alleged leaping off of a male patient from the third floor of the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital on Friday.Crisanto Saldua, 53 of Tampakan, South Cotabato was confined to the government hospital on Feb. 26 due Tuberculosis. But for still unknown reason, Saldua who was confined at the pay-wing section of the hospital, rushed to the third floor and leaped to death.Puzzled by his unusual behavior, the wife, Annable, tried to stop Crisanto from leaving his room, to no avail.
