Gov. Nancy Catamco back in harness 

NORTH COTABATO --- Spiritual leaders of highland tribes in North Cotabato performed at sunrise Wednesday a blessing rite for Gov. Nancy Catamco to mark her return to office after a three-month suspension.

She was suspended by the Office of the Ombudsman due to graft case while she was yet a private individual.

The symbolic prayer rite was held at the town proper of the earthquake-stricken Makilala town in North Cotabato.

Mag 4.2 jolts Davao Oriental

DAVAO CITY - A magnitude 4.2 quake jolts Davao region today with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) saying the epicenter was nine kilometers west of Lupon, Davao Oriental.

In a bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor came at 3 p.m. and tectonic in origin.  It said aftershocks are expected.

Magnitude 5.9 quake jolts mainland Mindanao

KIDAPAWAN CITY - A magnitude 5.9 quake jolts mainland Mindanao tonight at 9:22 p.m. with the epicenter traced to Kadingilan, Bukidnon, the Philippine Instute of Volcanology and Seismology said in a bulletin viewed by www.ndbcnews.com.ph

The following is the reported intesities: Intensity 5 in Kidapawan, Intensity 4 in Davao and Cotabato cities.  Intensity 3 in Koronadal City.

It was tectonic in origin and traced six kilometer west to Kadingilan town in Bukidnon.

Quake victims may apply for calamity loans starting Nov. 18

KIDAPAWAN CITY  —  The Social Security System (SSS) today announced that Mindanao quake victims can now start applying for calamity loan on Nov. 18.

An estimated 54,000 SSS members living in areas in Mindanao affected by recent quakes that rofcked the islands can avail part of the P443 million in calamity loan assistance package, according to  

SSS president and chief executive Aurora C. Ignacio.

Workers in BARMM to benefit from new wage hike

COTABATO CITY – Minimum wage earners in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will receive higher pay following the Bangsamoro Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board’s (BTWPB) approval of Wage Order No. BARMM-01 on November 13, 2019.

Wage Order No. BARMM-01, which provides a new minimum wage increase for non-agriculture and agriculture sectors in the Bangsamoro region, was issued by the BTWPB-BARMM on Thursday, November 14.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Viral ngayon sa social media ang isang sorbetero sa bayan ng Makilala, North Cotabato dahil sa kanyang palibreng ice cream sa mga biktima ng lindol.

Kuha ang larawan sa Facebook post ni Vonbryan Edo na kung saan makikita ang isang lalaki na sorbetero habang namimigay ng ice cream sa mga nakapilang bata.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Nasunog ang bahay ng isang negosyante na nasa Perez Street, Poblacion, Kidapawan City.

Ayon sa mga residente, nagsimula ang sunog alas 12:00 ng tanghali kanina.

Sa ulat, ang bahay ay pagmamay-ari ng isang Quinee Montero.
