COTABATO CITY - The Lamitan City government on Tuesday donated to the Philippine Army a five-hectare land for a camp as part of its security and economic thrust for its 45 constituent barangays.

COTABATO CITY - Three individuals died instantly in a gruesome highway mishap involving two vehicles in Barangay Polonuling in Tupi town in South Cotabato on Thursday.

In separate reports on Friday, the Tupi Municipal Police Station and the South Cotabato Provincial Police Office stated that Ralph Anthony Zabala and Hernando Carl Cortez, who were together in a black Mazda pick-up truck, and a driver of a Kia Bongo, Louzel Defiño, all died on the spot from the accident.

DAVAO CITY - Supporters of Davao del Norte Gov. Edwin Jubahib continued barricading the gate of the provincial capitol against the police who handed over the suspension order of the duly elected governor.

Early morning Thursday, Jubahib in a video message, said he was not given the privilege to answer any case filed against him. “I was just informed that I will be suspended and I don’t know why,” he added

in his video message. The case against Jubahib was filed by Board member Orly Amit for Grave Abuse of authority against Jubahib.

COTABATO CITY - Non-uniformed policemen arrested a man wanted for molesting girls in an operation in a secluded barangay in Kidapawan City on Wednesday.

Officials of the Kidapawan City government and North Cotabato provincial police director Col. Gilbert Tuzon announced on Thursday that the suspect, Rogie Awag, is now detained, awaiting prosecution.

He was traced by policemen and barangay officials in Sitio Sumayahon, Barangay Perez, Kidapawan City  with the help of confidential informants.

DAVAO CITY — Four Yamashita treasure hunters died inside the cave they were exploring in Sitio Tinago, Barangay Cabadiangan in the town of Kadingilan in the province of Bukidnon last Sunday.

The area is about 20 kilometers away from the town center without electricity or internet signal. However, the victims brought a generator to explore the coveted Yamashita treasure.

Apart from their families, no one knows their intentions.

COTABATO CITY --- Law enforcement operatives and Army personnel seized P13.6 million worth of shabu from a large-scale trafficker entrapped on Saturday in Indanan town in Sulu.

The sting that led to the arrest of Sakura Badih Astung was laid by agents in Sulu of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao with the help of units of the Sulu Provincial Police Office and the military’s Western Mindanao Command.

COTABATO CITY - Police investigators are still trying to make sense of how a soldier returning to their camp from somewhere mysteriously died along a highway in Barangay Baloybuan in Pagadian City, his cadaver and motorcycle found about three meters apart along the route early Monday.

Two passengers and a driver were killed instantly when a wayward pick-up truck rammed a tricycle head-on at a stretch of a highway in Barangay Tinoto in Maasim town in Sarangani before dawn Friday.

The Sarangani Provincial Police Office, in a report on Saturday to Region 12 police director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, said the three tricycle passengers, Loreto Zamora, Jomar Pilon and Erwin Pilon died on the spot from injuries sustained in the accident.
