COTABATO CITY --- Guns are silent in Barangay Matilac in Pigcawayan, North Cotabato since last week after the military had repositioned away from each other two Moro groups that figured in deadly gunfights in the area in recent months.

Local officials and the commander of the Army’s 6^th Infantry Division, Major Gen. Alex Rillera, separately told reporters on Sunday that the enemies Tong Talusan and Ebrahim Piang and their followers have agreed to disengage in reciprocation of efforts of traditional Moro leaders and officials 6^th ID to reconcile them. 

COTABATO CITY - Two Moro residents were wounded in an ambush at a residential area here on Friday night that caused panic among villagers.

Misuari Tatak, 49, and his companion, the 25-year-old Datu Akbar Maulana, were together in a sports utility vehicle when they were repeatedly shot by gunmen positioned at a stretch of the 5^th Road in Barangay Rosary Heights here, wounding both of them.

KORONADAL CITY – Seventy-one wanted persons with warrants of arrest issued by various local courts were arrested during the daylong Simultaneous Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in the Soccsksargen Region on Thursday.

“It was a resounding success,” said Brig. Gen. Percival Augustus Placer, regional director for the Police Regional Office-Soccsksargen (PRO-12), in a statement Friday.

Of the 71, seven were listed as the most wanted at the regional level, eight at the provincial level, and 13 at the municipal level.

Also arrested were 43 persons for other crimes.

COTABATO CITY --- A motorcycle-riding courier out to deliver some P20,000 worth of his illegal merchandise died in a road accident in Barangay Calumpang in General Santos City before dawn Friday.

Witnesses had told investigators from the General Santos City Police Office that the 26-year-old Niño Francis Arellano Vitor was riding his motorcycle when he collided head-on with another motorist, a minor, in a stretch of the Fil-Am Highway in Purok Fernandez in Barangay Calumpang.

COTABATO CITY -Two villagers were badly wounded in the crossfire between two feuding Moro groups on Wednesday night in Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur.

In a report on Thursday to Bangsamoro Police Director Brig. Gen. Prexy Tanggawohn, the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial Police Office identified the victims as Miden Sabpa Dalana and Mohamiden Midtimbang Dasil, now confined in a hospital.

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat  – Police authorities here are hunting down two persons of interest in the killing of a staff worker of a state university whose body was found along Ala River Wednesday.

Police said Daryll Imperio, 44, resident of Barangay Kalawag 2, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat positively confirmed that the victim was his brother, Jonji Imperio, 42, single and employee of Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU)

DAVAO CITY - Three followers of Pastor Apollo quiboloy who were co-accused in the child abuse charges against the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ have been arrested in three different places in the region.

National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Archie Albao on Wednesday said the three were arrested in different places, one in Island garden City of Samal, one inside the Jose Maria College Compound and the third in Barangay Tamayong this city.
