LANAO DEL NORTE --- Agents seized P6.5 million worth of shabu from large-scale trafficker Jalil Akil Linog who fell in an entrapment Thursday in Balo-i town in this province.

Linog is among the top ten most wanted drug dealers operating in the adjoining Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur provinces in Region 10 and in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, respectively.

He was entrapped near a gasoline station in the town proper of Balo-I Thursday by agents of PDEA from Region 10, from BARMM and combined police and military personnel from both regions.

Juvenal Azurin, director of PDEA-BARMM, said Friday it took the agency a long time of preparatory surveillance and planning to put the elusive Linog behind bars.

He was frisked and immediately cuffed while turning over a kilo of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) costing P6.5 million to agents disguised as drug dependents.

Azurin said they are grateful to the provincial police offices in Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur and units of the Army’s 103rd Brigade under the 1st Infantry Division for helping enforce the sting that led to the arrest of Linog.

Linog shall be prosecuted for violation of the Philippine Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165) using the shabu confiscated from his as evidence.
