11 nabbed in North Cotabato anti-drug raid, P1-M worth of drugs recovered
PIKIT, North
Cotabato – Eleven persons were arrested and more than P1 million
worth of prohibited drigs were seized in an anti-drug operation here Friday morning.
Kath Abad,
speaking for the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 12, told Radyo Bida Koronadal the raid was conducted by joint PDEA operatives and North Cotabato police
office in Barangay Dalingaoen at 11 a.m.
The governmetn forces, armed with eight search warrants were to arrest drug den operator Mangiging Pandian, an identified high value target and eight other drug
den workers. We were able
to seized about 340 grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P-M, Senior
Supt. Emmanuel Peralta, North Cotabato police provincial director, said.
Peralta said
the suspects who have been in the police drug watch list have been placed under
surveillance for months.

suspects were women.
The raiding
team also recovered cal. 45 pistol, mobile phones, P28,000 cash, four
carnapped motorbikes and shabu paraphernalia.
While police
and anti-narcotics operatives were accounting the seized items, a 15-minute
firefight occurred in the vicinity of Barangay Dalengaoen between soldiers of 7th
Infantry Battalion and two suspects who fled on board a motorbike.
The two, one
of whom was injured, managed to elude arrest by running toward the forest area
