1,164 wanted persons arrested by police in Region 12 since Jan. 1
GEN. SANTOS CITY -- The anti-criminality campaign against wanted persons of Police
Regional Office 12 recorded an increase on the number of arrested most wanted persons during the first two months of 2018 as compared to the same period last year.During the first two months of 2018, police offices in the provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sarangani and Sultan Kudart and the cities of Cotabato, Kidapawan, Tacurong, Koronadal and Gen. Santos, areas that comprised the SOCCSKSARGEN region, arrested 292 wanted persons (WP), 97 regular wanted persons and 775 arrested persons in flagrante delicto (caught in the act of wrongdoing).Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, police regional director for the SOCCSKSARGEN region, said the 2018 figure is 283 higher as compared to last year's 881 persons arrested.Morales said police officers arrested a total of 1,164 persons since January 2018 to date across the region. The significant increase in the number of arrested wanted
persons is a breakthrough in PRO 12 in just two months operation since PNP’s
campaign against wanted persons was intensified under President Duterte’s administration, Morales said in a statement.He said the police will continue implementing relentlessly the PNP's Manhunt Charlie. The Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDGM) has duly accounted the number of arrested wanted persons in Region 12.
