19 hurt in North Cotabato highway crash
COTABATO CITY (May 22) – At least 19 persons were injured in a vehicular crash in Alamada, North Cotabato the other day, authorities and disaster officials today said.
The Alamada Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) reported that the crash happened near Camp Paulino Santos, Barangay Dado, Alamada, North Ctoabato at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The vehicle was heading to Davao City from a brief visit at Asik-Asik Falls in Barangay Dado, Alamada, North Cotabato when the mishap happened.
The vehicle was negotiating a downward portion of the highway when its brake system mal-functioned causing the vehicle to swerve outside the concrete lane.
The youngest victim was six years old and the eldest was 61 year old male.
The most serious was the driver, Arlan Christopher Billena, 28, of Jade Valley Subdivision, Davao City, Romeo Arlan, 61, who was seated in the front seat of the Zusuki All Purpose Vehicle.
Asik-Asik Falls has been a popular tourist destination because it was unique with water flowing from the side of the mountain that appeared like a curtain.
