2 suspected carnappers die in shootout with Isulan cops

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat--Two suspected carnappers were killed in a shootout with lawmen in a remote village here minutesafter they allegedly carnapped motorbike Wednesday morning, police said.Senior Supt. Raul Supiter, Sultan Kudarat police director, said the two suspects, who remained unidentified as of posting, earlier carnapped at gunpoint theKawasaki motorbike of Florencio Vivencio Jr in Barangay Dansuli, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.Responding policemen chased the suspects who fled toward Barangay Kenram. Cornered, the suspects put up a fight, killing them in the process, Supiter said.Recovered from the slain suspects were the stolen motorcycle, a live fragmentation grenade, two sachets of shabu and a cal. 45 pistol. Spent shells for cal. 45 pistol were also found beside the victims.
