3 hurt in Sarangani quake, damage buildings reported

GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Three were slightly hurt when a Magnitude 7.3 tremor jolted Sarangani province and nearby areas in central Mindanao before dawn Saturday.Supt. Romeo Galgo, Jr., spokesman of the Police Regional Office-12 here, said victims Edilberto Corporal, 53, Leopoldo Ramolo, 56, and Beverly Dala, 16, were rushed by rescuers to a hospital for medication. Galgo said all three of them are residents of Glan town in Sarangani.Galgo said police investigators are now validating reports that the earthquake damaged several buildings and houses in the municipality.In an advisory, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake's epicenter was about 31 kilometers south of Glan and has a depth of 10 kilometers.The tremor was also felt in Cotabato City, in the provinces of Bukidnon, South Cotabato, Kidapawan, Davao, Sarangani and parts of the Zamboanga peninsula.
