49 forest protectors trained to protect Alamada's remaining forest covers
ALAMADA, North Cotabato - In a bid to save the remaining forest covers of Alamada in North Cotabato, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office in Midsayap, North Cotabato have organized and trained "forest protector."
Last week, 49 Forest Protection Officers (FPOs) in Alamada have underwent a two-day orientation on environmental laws rules and regulations facilitated by the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office of Midasayap.
The formation of forest protectors was requested by North Cotabato Province First District Rep. Joel N. Sacdalan from Environment Secretary Roy A. Cimatu to protect, preserve and conserve the remaining forests and other natural resources of Alamada.
Alamada Mayor Jesus N. Sacdalan said that the FPOs will tie-up with the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the Philippine National Police in the execution of their functions. I
