5 caught smuggling big volume of shabu to SK province
SULTAN KUDARAT --- Authorities seized P1.2 million worth of shabu in an operation in Isulan town Thursday that led to the arrest of five large-scale drug traffickers.
The suspects, Noraida Sabang, Namraida Sengkong Mama, Aisa Nasser Baldido, Abdul Zainudin and Anwar Kasim, are now detained, to be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Philippine Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
All five of them are residents of Cotabato City, according to the Police Regional Office-12.
They were intercepted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and police personnel in Barangay Kalawag III in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat while on board a van en route to somewhere in the municipality.
The operation that led to their arrest was jointly carried out by agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-12 and combined operatives from the Isulan municipal police station and the Sultan Kudarat provincial police office.
PRO-12 and PDEA officials told reporters Friday it was for the tips from vigilant residents in Sultan Kudarat province and in Cotabato City that the attempt to smuggle into Isulan P1.2 worth of shabu was foiled promptly.
