6 fall in anti-drug ops in Cotabato City
COTABATO CITY – Six persons were arrested and a suspected drug den was dismantled during anti-drug operations Wednesday night in Barangay Rosary Heights 7 here.
Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi said the 8 p.m. drug buy bust operations was carried out jointly by the Army’s 5th Special Forces Battalion, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and Cotabato City police office against a certain “Teng” in Purok Talitay, Barangay Rosary Heights 7, Cotabato City.
Alias Teng, later identified as Michael Mohammad, was arrested along with five others, identified in PDEA report as Faisal Mohammad, Silogan Patadon, Benjie Ulobalang, Sherad Abedin and Amer Abedin, all suspected to be clients of the drug den operated by Mohammad.
Mayor Sayadi, in her social media account, said a certain “Alias Sammy” who was in the venue at the time of the drug buy bust managed to elude arrest.
Seized from Mohammad’s house were sachets of suspected shabu, shabu paraphernalia, P10,000 cash used as “boodle money,” mobile phones and identification cards of the arrested suspects.
The PDEA in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) are now preparing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act) against the suspects now detained at PDEA-BARMM jail facility.
