COTABATO CITY –
For the second time in two years, the Aboitiz owned Cotabato Light and Power Company
(Cotabato Light) has turned over electrical laboratory to a government owned
public high school here Friday.

Established
through the Aboitiz Foundation, the Cotabato Light turned over its second
electrical laboratory (e.Lab) within its franchise area and the beneficiary was
Notre Dame Village National High School.

Through the
years, Cotabato Light has been determined at providing assistance to schools
within its franchise area that also includes, aside from Cotabato City, the
towns of Sultan Kudarat and Datu Odin Sinsuat, both in Maguindanao.

It has been
part of our company's thrust to always give back to the community, a
manifestation of our commitment to improve on the quality of education in the
area, Anna Lea Lee L. Nataño, Cotabato Light Human Resources and Reputation
Enhancement head, said.

The e.Lab,
which is in support to Department of Education K to 12 curriculum, is for the
learners who will be taking up Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM)
Course. TESDA will then issue National Certification (NC) 2 or Certificate of
Competency (COC) to the passers of the course, which can be used as credentials
in applying for gainful employment after finishing senior high school.

The project
amounting to almost half a million pesos, includes 10 sets of Training Table and
Assessment Facility, 50 armchairs, Information Wall and Glass Boards.

In years of
being partner with Cotabato Light and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., we are
delighted and honored to accept the e.lab project, Deped Division
Superintendent Dr. Concepion Ferrer–Balawag-Al Hadj said. This is truly a
legacy that will help the students and the next generation to come and I expect
them to take full advantage of this laudable program.

The symbolic
key was handed over by Nataño and was received by the school Principal Vivencio
O. Aniñon and Balawag together with the teachers, students, and barangay
officials.

The company
will continue to hold on to its commitment and thrust as a dependable electric
provider in the area and a partner in progress in advancing business and
communities that will create greater and meaningful impact by driving change
for a better world to make our communities safe, empowered, and sustainable, Nataño
said.

We accept
this treasure with a grateful heart for the development of the students.
Through this electrical laboratory, we are very sure that the number of our
students will increase in EIM course and this will provide many opportunities
for their career, Aniñon said during the turn over rites.Last year, a similar laboratory was turned over by Cotabato Light to Canizares National High School, also in Cotabato City.
