Another fire hits Koronadal City 2 days after big fire torched 33 homes

KORONADAL CITY -- Another fire hit this city, two days after a massive fire destroyed more than 30 homes.All the 13 classrooms of Marbel Institute of Technical College (MITC), located along Alunan Avenue, Koronadal City, went to ashes as the fire rapidly spread despite early arrival of fire trucks and firefighters.Initial estimate on the damages of the incident was pegged at P5 million and could go higher once assessment and evaluation is completed, according to Koronadal City fire marshall Senior Inspector Reginald Legaste.Legaste told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida and Happy FM Koronadal that the fire started at about 6 p.m. He said arson investigators are still on the scene to determine what triggered the fire which came two nights after a fire hit and burned houses made of light materials at Casa Subdivision, this city.School officials were to start a party at the other building when the ceiling of the two-story building ignited and fire was seen running on the roof.Investigators eye arson, electrical short circuit, among others as cause of the conflagration.Several cars and pedicabs used for driving school were also damaged.
