Army recovers guns in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – With the relentless campaign on loose firearms, the joint forces of Datu Piang Municipal Police Station and the troops of 2ndMechanized Infantry Battalion recovered low-powered firearm during the conduct of law enforcement support operation on Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Brgy Buayan, Datu Piang, Maguindanao.Recovered were one Ingram with magazine, two Bandoleers for M16 and two Bandoleers for Garand rifle which was hidden in the grassy area of the said place.Loose firearm was also recovered yesterday and the arrest of certain Alimundin Sangcopan in Brgy Labu-Labu, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao.The 6ID will sustain its support to the PNP and other agencies particularly on the law enforcement operation, Major GeneralArnel Dela Vega, 6th Infantry Division chief,said.Healso commended the troops involved for the successful conduct of the operation. The support of the community by providing significant information was also recognized.
