Blast rocks Zambo police station, woman nabbed for kidnapping
ZAMBOANGA CITY - Police authorities here are hunting down two men who tossed a hand grenade toward a police station No. 9in Barangay Ayala here Tuesday morning, TIMRA Zamboanga reported today. Nobody was hurt in the explosion. TIMRA station DXVP reported that police found fragments of MK-2 fragmentation grenade after the 5:30 a.m. blast. Two men riding tandem on motorbike were seen fleeing the site shortly after the explosion.Senior Supt. Angelito Casimiro, city police director, believed the grenade blast was a retaliatory attack due to an intensified campaign against illegal drug trade in the city. Also in Zamboanga, police arrested a 42-year-old woman who allegedly abducted a 1-year-old baby in Barangay Talon-Talon here. Insp. Dahlan Samuddin of PRO-9 region police spokesperson identified the suspect asAnnora Julhasan who was captured by the CCTV camera of the victim's house.The woman is facing kidnapping charges.
