Brigada Eskwela for 18 schools in MILF areas kicks off Tuesday

COTABATO CITY -- The Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will jointly kick off Wednesday a series of Brigada Eskwela activities in 18 public schools located in areas where MILF base commands operate. The schools are located in the interior of the provinces of Maguindanao, North Cotabato, Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte.The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Department of Education (DepEd),Department of Health(DOH) and the local government units (LGUs) and line agencies in these provinces will facilitate the various services.It includesrepair of school buildings and facilities, provision of school supplies and a dental mission for the children.Other services that will be rendered during the Brigada Eskwelainclude free hair-cut and general cleaning of schoolrooms. Members of the MILF's Women Auxiliary Brigade and local commands will join the service personnel.Parents in respective schools have been advised to bring brooms, rakes and other cleaning tools.
