COTABATO CITY
(Sept. 6/NDBC) – The military will disposed today unexploded ordnance recovered
by Army and police bomb experts in the city and its environs, an Army official
said.

Major Albert
Ortiz, chief of the 3rd Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EODT)
based in PC Hill, Cotabato City, said the disposal will be held in an
uninhabited area in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

We would like
to inform the public that loud explosions will be heard during the bomb
disposal activities,” Ortiz said, adding that civilians or spectators are
prohibited from coming near the disposal site.

Ortiz said the
unexploded ordnance include mortar rounds, rifle grenades, rocket propelled
grenades, and hand grenades recovered in various operations in Cotabato City
and nearby areas.

These are
live explosives so we are disposing it properly,” Ortiz said.

We appeal to
the public not to panic with the series of loud explosions this morning,” he
said.

Only military
personnel and bomb experts are allowed in the vicinity of the disposal site.
