Cotabato City anti-drug chief killed in Tacurong City

TACURONG CITY--- Unidentified gunmen riding on a motorbike shot dead the head of Cotabato City anti-illegal unit while in his hometown in Tacurong City Saturday night, police said.
Senior Supt. Rannie Hachuela, Tacurong City police director, identified the victim as Senior Inspector Orlando Ramos Guira, 46, deputy chief of Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force in Cotabato City. Hachuela said Guira was riding on a motorbike from Isulan town to Tacurong City when two armed men, riding tandem on a separate motorbike, tailed him and opened fire in Barangay ECJ Montilla at 8:30 p.m.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds from cal. 45 pistol.
Hachuela said Guira was to fetch his physician-wife in Isulan going to Tacurong City but the wife Le Jean, decided to take a tricycle since she was not feeling well. Senior Inspector Guira then tailed the tricycle along the Isulan-Tacurong City highway when the ambush occurred,” Hachuela said.
Guira died on the spot. The suspect fled back to Isulan town, Hachuela said.
Police are yet to determine if the attack was related to his work as anti-illegal special operations task force in Cotabato City. (Ferdinandh Carbera)
