Cotabato City student loses P39,000 to snatcher

COTABATO CITY -- A student from Cotabato
City State Polytechnic College (CCSPC) lost P39,000 she withdrew from an
automated teller machine in a mall here to the fast hands of a snatcher on
Sunday evening, Feb 19.

Marma B. Simban, 20, a resident of
Governor Gutierrez Street, Rosary Heights, told police she was leaving at around 6
pm after withdrawing the amount, which she placed in her wallet, when an
unidentified woman bumped her.

She found out later that her wallet was
already missing and immediately reported to the police.

Closed circuit television footage
obtained by the police from the mall showed the unidentified woman who bumped
her taking her wallet.

Police are now trying to establish the
identity of the suspect even as they warned city residents to avoid making
money transactions alone especially at night time.
