Cotabato Light joins Brigada Eskwela, donates 500 chairs
COTABATO CITY – As part of its corporate social responsibility, the Cotabato Light and Power Company (Cotabato Light) joined “Brigada Eskwela” in Maguindanao and helped beautify a public elementary school.
Cotabato Light President and Chief Operating Officer Ben Caro C. Arkoncel and Assistant Vice President and General Manager Judy C. Sanchez, workers of the Aboitiz-owned power distributor took time out to join the bandwagon of beautifying and preparing the Simuay Junction Central Elementary School for June 3 class opening.
Through the famous “Filipino Bayanihan,” volunteers gave classrooms brand new look by cleaning, repainting and minor rewiring. The school also received 500 pieces brand new armchairs from Cotabato Light.
The Brigada Eskwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week is a nationwide initiative by the Department of Education (DepEd) which aims to mobilize the parents, alumni, teachers, civic groups, local businesses, students, and individuals who volunteer their time and skills to do the repairs in order to prepare the school facilities for coming school opening in June.
It was attended Ministry of Basic Higher and Technical Education of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), represented by Ms. Jihan Limba Abdulrasid, Schools Division Superintendent Bai Meriam A. Kawit, Al Hadja, District Supervisor of Sultan Kudarat II Dr. Ibrahim A. Embing Sr. Al-Hadj, Division Brigada Eskwela Coordinator and Division Supply Officer Tukan Mangulamas, National Guard of MILF Central Committee represented by Kim Idres and Ustadz Abu Saima Husain, 37th Infantry Battalion officer Capt. Dorcesimo Cuyag Jr, Sultan Kudarat police office, paretns, teachers and community leaders.
