COTABATO CITY – Environment officials in Region 12 confiscated Friday more than P1
million worth of illegally cut forest products in the coastal town of Lebak,
Sultan Kudarat.

Tungko Saikol,
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-12) Anti-Illegal Logging
Campaign officer in charge, said the more than 30,000 board feet confiscated
hardwood products could have been cut illegally in the forests of Kalamansig
and Lebak, both in Sultan Kudarat.

Saikol refused
to identify the owners of confiscated forest products as investigation and
follow up operation was still continuing.

The forest
products are now impounded at the DENR office in Kalamansig town.
