DepEd exec urges students to watch Koronadal Int'l foklore festival
KORONADAL CITY - An education official in Central Mindanao region has urged all public school students to witness the on going Koronadal CityInternational Folklore Festival here because the event is highly educational. Speaking over DXOM-AM Radyo Bida, Dr. Allan Farnazo,Department of Education (DepEd) 12 regional director, said the festival can be a lifetime experience for students because through this they will learn various cultures from around the world.The event which will end tomorrow is participated by cultural groups from at least nine foreign countries and seven local cultural groups from the Philippines.He said the event is providing the audience with various cultural values that are practiced worldwide.Aside from Philippine cultural groups, delegates from Poland, Mexico, Russia, Turkey, Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, Sri Lanka and many others are showing their respective cultures and folkarts.Farnazao also urged students to watch,listen and be part of the festival because knowledge acquired from the event will surely help them in the future.Aside from Koronadal City, the festival participants also perform in various towns in South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Saranggani province.Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao is the guest of honor and speaker during the culminating program Tuesday, according to Koronadal City Mayor Fernando Miguel.Miguel told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that Rep. Pacquio, more known as Pambansang Kamao, is known worldwide and known to the foreign participants.
