DOH honors SoCot LGUs with best health programs

KORONADAL CITY - The South Cotabato provincial government has honored local government units with effective health programs.Described as'Best performing barangays' are the villages of Cabuling in the town ofBanga, San Isidro in Koronadal City, Lower Maculan in Lake Sebu town, Lapus in Norala, Poblacion in Polomolok, San Vicente in Sto. Nino, Tubi-allah in Surallah, Liberty in Tampakan, Cabuling in Tantangan, New Dumangas the town ofT’boli and BarnagayUpper Poblacion in Tupi. Each winningLGUs received P10,000 cash andplaque of recognition. Named 'Best Health Facility' wasRural Health Unit of Tantangan, South Cotabato with the village government receiving P15,000 cash and plaque of recognition.The awarding was conducted during the Provincial Health Congress sa Koronadal City last Friday.Dr. Franciso Mateo, assistant regional director of DOH-12, said the winning village governments will also receive P10,000 worth of assorted medicine for the village health centers.About P20,000 worth of medicine will go to RHU Tantangan. Mateo said the awards will hopefully help the LGUs improve health services further and for other LGUs to emulate.
