Ex-village chief, brother die in ambushCARMEN, North Cotabato-- A formervillage chair and his brother were killed by still unidentified gunmen in a remote village here Friday, police said today. In Carmen, North Cotabato, police were hunting down three men who shot dead a former village chair and his brother in Katanayanan, Carmen, North Cotabato. Chief Inspector Julius Malcontento, Carmen town police chief, identified the victims as Jackson Enad, 52 and his brother Jicky Enad, 44, both resident of Barnagay Poblacion, Carmen. The elder Enad was a former village chair of Barangay Katipunan, Kidapawan City. He and his brother went to the family owned rubber plantation when gunmen arrived Saturday dawn and opened fire on them. The siblings were on board a multi-cab vehicle with license plate MFF-747 then the suspected opened fire on them at 5:30 a.m. They died on the spot. Scene of the crime operatives found empty shells for cal. 45 pistol at the ambush site.
