Police officers in public schools ro ensure safety of all on Day 1 of school year 2019-2020
GEN. SANTOS CITY – Police authorities in the Soccsksargen region today announced that the first day of classes for school year 2019-2010 was generally peaceful across the region.
Brig. Gen. Eliseo Tam Rasco, police regional director for Soccsksargen (Region 12), said in a statement that no major untoward incident have transpired that disrupted the first day of classes in all public schools in the region.
Before June 3, Rasco has ordered an intensified implementation of security measures in different cities and municipalities, to give special attention to schools on the first day of classes.
In coordination with the Local Government Offices throughout the region, PRO-12 has strengthened checkpoints and increased police presence in places of convergence and vital installations among other police operations to deter any crime from taking place.
PNP “Force Multipliers” were also deployed in schools to assist the pedestrians and manage the flow of traffic and as well as to monitor the peace and order situation at the said place thereat.
Traffic signs and barricades were placed in front of schools to caution over speeding vehicles as well as the use of traffic enforcers to manage the flow of the traffic in overly crowded junctions and streets.
The South Cotabato police and Lake Sebu, South Cotabato, reported that four school children were injured when a huge narra tree ws troppled down by strong wind and heavy rain on Monday noon inside the Lake Sebu National High School.
