Police authorities today announced the arrest of Sen. Leila de Lima’s former driver-lover and alleged bagman Ronnie Dayan before noon in La Union Tuesday.Initial police report showed, Dayan was arrested at around11:30 a.m. at Sitio Turod, Barangay (village) San Felipe, San Juan, La Union. He was flown to Camp Crame as of 12:45 p.m.Police Director General Ronaldo dela Rosa is set to present him to media in Camp Crame.Police operatives from theCriminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-La Union) and operatives from the La Union and Pangasinan, acting on a tip found Dayan alone. He did not resist arrest.A Pangasinan resident, Dayan has eluded agents of the National Bureau of Investigation on many occasion.He was ordered arrested for refusing to appear before a congressional inquiry into drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison.Detained drug lords told a House inquiry Dayan was de Lima's bag man collecting money from them.De Lima repeatedly denied the allegations but admitted her illicit affair with Dayan. She told a TV show that frailties of a woman when asked what triggered the affair.Last week,Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption raised a P1 million reward for Dayan’s arrest.Police had been searching for him since the House inquiry during which an arrest order was released.He was last seen in his home in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan since President Duterte tagged him as De Lima's lover and alleged link to the drug lords detained at the New Bilibid Prison.
