KORONADAL CITY -- For pushing, three police officers in Gen. Santos City were honored by police officials in the SOCCSKSARGEN region. While some cops fall for pushing illegal drugs, these cops were honored for pushing another thing.Supt. Romeo Galgo, spokesperson of Police Regional Office (PRO-12), confirmed to Radyo Bida Koronadal the three police officers were awarded Medalya ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta for helping a tricycle driver hurdle the muddy and slippery dirt road last week. The three cops, Police Officer 3 (PO3)Olficino Paderes Jr, PO2 Raymon Cainglet and PO1 Jake Fantillano, were on patrol on board a police car along a dirt road leading to Soledad subdivision in Gen. Santos City.On Nov. 10, while on patrol, they noticed a tricycle loaded with GI sheets stuck while negotiating an uphill portion of the road amid heavy rains. Two of the threecops alighted from the patrol car and pushed the pedicab to commuters' surprise, according to netizen Rein Amoro. Amoro filmed the scenario and posted it on Facebook that went viral.Amoro said what struck him was the cops went out of their way amid heavy downpour to help a tricycle driver passed through muddy road. This is something that will inspire others, not only police officers but anyone capable of extending help, we are promoting it because we are proud of it, Galgo said of the three officers' action recognized by PRO-12 during Monday's flag raising ceremonies.During the flag raising ceremonies, PRO-12 also honored Police Senior Inspector Canieso Goldingon and PO3 Jose Condridge. The two received Medalya ng Papuri for demonstrating exemplary efficiency in the performance of their
duties and responsibilities during the apprehension of suspects for direct
assault on November 7, 2016 in Pacquiao Village, Brgy Bales, Maasim, Sarangani
Province.

The
men and women in uniform should emulate what the awarded PNP personnel did, Galgo said. This is a trait worth emulating, he added.Galgo said the police organization believed that by giving awards to PNP personnel for a job well done boost their morale and increase
their efficiency and effectiveness. The reward system also widens perspective in the organization, Galgo said.
