KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Volunteer kindergartenteachers in this city have reasons to smile now, at least. This after the education departmentstarted releasing honorarium of about 40 volunteer mentors through the Department of Education. The long wait was over, saidNatividad Ocon, city assistant schools division superintendent.Ocon explained toDXND Radyo Bida that it was only this month that DepEd received the Subsidy Allotment Release Order (SARO) from DepEd regional office. Each volunteer teacher will receive P3,000 per month from January to March this year. While this is one was a good news, Ocon has another news for volunteer teachers in Kidapawan City. The sad news, Ocon said, that the DepEd has terminated the services of volunteer kindergarten teachers because under the K-12 program, regular DepEd teachers will now handle kindergarten classes.
