Homes damaged, trees toppled as strong winds hit Koronadal

KORONADAL CITY - Moderate rains accompanied by strong winds toppled several huge trees and damaged several houses in at least three areas here Saturday night, the city disaster risk reduction and management council said today. Cyrus Urbano, city administrator and action officer of CDRRMC, said assessment as to the number of destroyed homes and toppled trees was still on going as of posting, Radyo Bida Koronadal reported Sunday morning.Several private cars parked near toppled trees were also damaged.Among the affected villages were Sto Nino, Zone 2 and Zone 3, initial reports reaching the CDRRMC said.Power outage was also reported after power lines were affected by the toppled trees.As of posting, no one was reported injured in the disaster.Photos posted in FB page of Radyo Bida Koronadal.
