Kalamansig Salagaan Festival puts town in tourism map

KALAMANSIG, Sultan Kudarat -- Tourism Regional Director Nelly Nita Dillera today lauded the people of this coastal town for its 1st Salagaan Festival, a festival celebrating the town's rich cultural heritage of Manobo, Tedudays and Maguindanaons.Dillera was guest of honor during the event that gathered the tri-people of Kalamansig and placed the town into regional and national tourism map of destinations.The regionaltourism chief said the event gave additional reason for tourists to visit and watch colorfulshows focusing on the town's rich cultural heritage of its inhabitants. Kalamansig has also impressive dive sites, snorkeling areas, beaches, mountains, caves and waterfalls, waiting to be developed, Dillera said. Raw that these are right now, a lot of people are already visiting the sites, she said, adding that theputting up basic infrastructure, services, activities, guides and putting in place standards will indeed be a boon to this part of SOX.She lauded Mayor Ronan Eugene Colina Garcia for the event and described him as so contagious with his enthusiasm and action for tourism.Simultaneous with the festival, the Kalamansig Rural Health Unit (RHU) conducted a Municipal Health Summit attended by all stakeholders.In his message, Garciaemphasized his commitment to give all Kalamansigueños free and accessible health program.Images below from Director Dillera.
