KORONADAL CITY (Sept. 29) - With the theme Green
economy towards competitive and resilient city,” Koronadal City is gearing up
for its 14th Charter Anniversary and 4th Negosyo Festival.

City Mayor Peter Miguel said the people of Koronadal
and neighboring places can expect a more festive celebration this year.

The eight-day merriment will start with Camarines
Sur 3rd District Representative Leni Robredo leading the inagauration of Jesse
Robredo Avenue on October 1.

Miguel said the 3.5 kilometer road was named after former
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary to honor his
insurmountable dedication to public service.

To promote organic farming, the City Agriculture
Office will spearhead the organic congress and fair in Gaisano Mall in October
1 to 8.

Employers that can give local and overseas
employment to the jobless, and even displaced Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW),
were invited by the City Public Employment Office (PESO) and Department of
Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 12 to participate in the Jobs Fair in
October 2.

Animal lovers are expected to flock at Rizal park
for the traditional dog fashion show, while representatives from the transport
sector will attend the Koronadal Drivers Convention in South Cotabato Sports
Complex, both events will be held in October 4.

Councilor Oscar Pagunsan, who is also the Chairman
of the Transportation Committee of the City Council, has reminded commuters and motorists about traffic rerouting. Reminding the
transport sector about traffic laws and enforcements and other related laws
will help boost the tourism industry of the city,” he said.

One of the highlights of the celebration is the
State of the City Address (SOCA), of Mayor Miguel on October 7.

Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, will be the
guest of honor during the culmination program in October 8.

Mabilog and Miguel will sign the sisterhood
agreement between the two cities.

For the whole month of October consumers can avail
of big discounts from malls, department stores and other commercial
establishments in the city.

To give the people of Koronadal full opportunity to
celebrate the occasion, October 8, 2014 was declared a special (non-working)
holiday by Malacanang through Proclamation No.877.
