Koronadal parish offers to have two dawn masses
KORONADAL CITY - The Roman Catholic Church here is all set for the beginning of the Simbang Gabi or dawn Mass as part of the Christmas Celebration. Valme Mariveles, Koronadal City Saint Anthony Parish Media Reporter, said sponsors, sharers and readers were already arranged by their trained thematic writers for the nine-day masses. The traditional dawn Mass begins on December 16. To accommodate more believers, the parish will have two dawn Masses each day. The first mass will be at 3 AM while the second mass is at 4:30 AM. Masses in Koronadal City will be atat the Parish Gym because the Christ the King Cathedral is still undergoing renovation. The gym can only accommodate at least 1000 people, since we are expecting about 5,000 especially on December 16 additional schedule for the dawn Mass will be conducted,” Mariveles told DXOM FM Koronadal Monday. Mariveles said that ensuring the safety of the people who will flock at the vicinity of the church is the top priority of the parish. We have already coordinated with the concerned agencies of the government, security is also, one the priorities of the church, we are ready for that,” Mariveles said. Since vehicles are not allowed to enter the church’s compound during dawn Masses, the police’s city traffic section is expected to designate streets around the church as parking areas.
