Koronadal street dancing to kick-off Int'l Folklore Festival

KORONADAL CITY -- Participants from nine foreign countries to the Council ofInternational Folklore and Folk Arts (CIOFF) International Folklore Festival 2015will show off their rich culture in a city-wide parade that will signal the start of international event today.The foreign delegates that are already in town are Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Mexico. They are to join the parade this afternoon, according to Koronadal City Mayor Peter Miguel.Miguel told DXOM Radyo Bida that an opening program will start at 3 p.m.at theSouth Cotabato Sports Complex.

Miguel said the event is also known as Piyesta Kolon Datal that will include street dancing along major thoroughfares of the city. We will be feted with a showcase of differentcultures through songs and dances, Miguel said, adding that participants will also visitingneighboring towns.
