Lady peace advocate named TESDA-BARMM head
COTABATO CITY – The minister of education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has named a lady peace advocate to head the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA-BARMM).
Director Ruby Andong assumed office Friday after Minister Mohaqher Iqbal of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE-BARMM) announced her appointment during the opening program of the regional skills competition 2019 at Barangay Rebuken, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
Andong has been in the forefront of women advocacy groups in the region who helped lobbied for the passage of organic law for Bangsamoro region.
Outgoing TESDA-BARRM Director Omar Dalagan was moved to TESDA Zamboanga.
Speaking to reporters, Andong said her priority as head of TESDA is to promote moral and values formation among trainees and clients.
She vowed to cleanse the regional office of corruption and irregularities, if there are any of some sort, and promote transparency, accountability and moral governance.
She vowed to continue the current TESDA programs first implemented by her predecessor.
