Lanao Sur farmers' coops get aid from DAF-ARMM

COTABATO
CITY – The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has
turned over more than P10 million agricultural support to farmers’ cooperatives
in Lanao del Sur, an agriculture official said today.
”Aside from helping farmers become more productive, this
is part of the preparations for the eventual coming in of a new political
entity that will replace the current ARMM,” Lawyer Makmod Mending Jr,
Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF-ARMM) regional secretary told
reporters.

Bankrolled
through the DA 2013 Agri-Pinoy funds, a total of P10.8 million worth of farm
machineries, equipment, inputs and planting materials have been distributed to
various farmer-coops in Lanao del Sur benefiting more than four thousand 4,008
farmers during the Farmers Forum at the Provincial Capitol in Marawi City.
