COTABATO CITY – A Maguindanao provincial lawmaker is crying for justice for his supporter who was murdered in Koronadal City last week.

Board Member King Jhazzwer Mangudadatu of Maguindanao’s second district, said Jamael Khanda Haron who was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen while inside his black Montero along Alunan Avenue, Koronadal City, was a “soft target.”

The young lawmaker is the son of former Maguindanao Governor Esmael Toto Mangudadatu, now a congressman representing Maguindanao’s second district.

King Jhazzer said he was alarmed by the murder of Haron “because he was so close to me as if I was the one being attacked.”

King Jhazzer said Haron has never told him he has threat to his life but his friends told him he had.

“I am convinced it was politically motivated,” he told reporters.

The provincial lawmaker has asked the PNP and the military to help contain political vendetta in Maguindanao. (FC)
