Noche Buena products still within SRP

KORONADAL
CITY - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in South Cotabato has assured
prices of Noche Buena” items in the province are still within the suggested
retail prices (SRP).
Flora
Gabunales, DTI South Cotabato provincial director, said increase in noche buena
prices are only minimal and cannot affect the consumers.
Prices of
certain inputs like milk was affected with the increase of prices in dairy
products, but it’s worth noting that highest increase for Queso de bola” for
example is only 13.42 percent or 30.35 centavos per half kilo,” Gabonales said.
The minor
increases in some Christmas products like the traditional ham can be attributed
to the increase in prices of raw materials and justified by the manufacturers.
The Trade
and Industry Department also lists the SRP for several brands like, cheese,
sauce, creamer, elbow macaroni salad, spaghetti, and tomatoe sauce.
Were
giving the lists of SRP to the department stores and other commercial
establishments, this is our campaign now,” Gabunales said.
Manufacturers
are now preparing for the onset of Christmas season to ensure sufficient supply
of Noche Buena products and other Christmas items.
Gabunales
appealed to the public to check the weight and size of products they buy and
validate if their prices are within the SRP lists of DTI.
