Pakistani killed in daylight attack in North Cotabato town
KIDAPAWAN CITY – Unidentified suspects shot dead a Pakistani national who was just tasked to collect loans from few residents in Carmen, North Cotabato, past 9 a.m., Wednesday, reports from Carmen municipal police station said.Chief Inspector April Lou Monserate Palma, chief of the Carmen PNP, identified the slain victim as Hazrat Hussain, 26, married, lending collector and a resident of Hi-Park Drive, Barangay Baliwasan Tabuk in Zamboanga City.Palma said the victim has just parked his motorbike in front of Macaya Store along the Sayre national highway in Carmen town, around 950 a.m. on Wednesday, when two still unidentified gunmen shot dead the Pakistani national.After they made sure they hit their target, the suspects sped towards the southern portion of the Kabacan town, also in North Cotabato, using the victim’s motorbike as getaway vehicle.Palma hinted the Pakistani’s killers just wanted the victim’s motorbike and were not interested on his cash collections.The killing of Pakistani national in Carmen town was the third in North Cotabato, since 2017, data from the Cotabato Police Provincial Office (CPPO) showed.In October 25, 2017, a Pakistani trader identified as Etesham Ulhag was shot dead in Pikit, North Cotabato.In December 2017, another Indian national identified as Harpeet Singh Dhillon was shot dead somewhere between North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat province.Ulhag and Dhillon, just like Hussain, were also involved in money-lending business, the CPPO said.
