Palay procurement price up in SoCot

KORONADAL CITY - The procurement price of palay is risingin South Cotabato, an official of theNational Food Authority (NFA) said today. Roque Hilario, NFA South Cotabato assistant provincial manager, said local farmers are now selling their clean and dry commercial rice at P16 to P17.50 per kilo while the wet rice is sold at P15. Hilario said the current price is P1.00 to P1.50 higher compared from the previous weeks. With the ending of the harvest season, it is expected that procurement price of palay will also increase,” Hilario told DXOM FM Koronadal Thursday. The increase of rice procurement prices meant increase in prices of commercial rice. Rolloque stressed that the grains agency has enough stocks of rice to ensure stability inSouth Cotabato.
