PDEA agents seize dried marijuana in 2 big boxes in N. Cotabato
KIDAPAWAN CITY – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Soccsksargen Region (Region 12) confiscated two boxes with rolls of dried leaves of Marijuana, an illegal drug, in an entrapment operation in Matalam town, Friday. PDEA-12 agent Troy said the Marijuana leaves were estimated at P200 thousand. The dried leaves, according to PDEA-12, were scheduled to be distributed to different towns in North Cotabato and other parts of Region 12, when these were intercepted by some of their assets and informants in the area. At least four suspects were believed behind the distribution.Their identities, however, were put on hold while PDEA-12 is still digging deeper on the case investigation. Agent Troy hinted the Marijuana could have been planted somewhere in the hinterlands of Matalam. Last week, operatives of Matalam PNP uprooted several Marijuana hills in a remote village in Matalam. Meantime, another two suspected drug couriers were arrested in a buy-bust operation, in Barangay Kilada, Matalam, on Friday. The Police identified the suspects as Telong Adam, 42, laborer and a former employee of the Cotabato City Government and Odin Edtig, 39, truck driver.Both are residents of Barangay Bulalo, Sultan Kudarat in Maguindanao. Confiscated from them were suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as ‘shabu’ that weighed about 30 grams and marked money. The suspects were immediately placed under the custody of Matalam PNP while charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were being prepared against them.
