TAWI-TAWI --- Servicemen of the 9th Marine Battalion of the Philippine Marine Corps do random patrols in Bongao to maintain peace in the municipality, capital of Tawi-Tawi.

Tawi-Tawi is known as the most peaceful province in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao that also covers Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur, both in mainland Mindanao, and the islands of Basilan and Sulu.

The unit is also involved in civil-military projects meant to foster cordiality between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Bongao’s mixed Muslim and Christian communities.
