Police arrest 4 for gun possession, grenades, illegal drugs
COTABATO CITY – Three personswere arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) during a raid in this city’s coastal village Thursday night, officials said today. In separate raid, police arrested a man for possession of assorted firearms. In a report, PDEA-ARMM said armed with search warrant, anti-narcotics agents backed by Army Special Forces raided a house in Sitio Bubong, Barangay Kalanganan 2, Cotabato City at 11 p.m. Arrested were Noraisa Baliwan Hussain, 36 years old, housewife, her husband Abe Hassan Hussain alias Kagi Abel and her son Jaime Kasan Hussain, 22. Kagi Abel was the target of operation. The same PDEA report said the Hussains are into the business of illegal drug pushing. Seized from the suspects were 50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu,” illegal drug paraphernalia, two fragmentation grenades, assorted ammunition for M-16 Armalite rifle, cal. 40 pistol and cal. 45 pistol. The suspects, now detained at PDEA-ARMM detention cell, have been charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearms and explosives. Meanwhile, in a separate police raid, a man was arrested and several firearms were recovered from him during implementation of Oplan Paglalansag Omega,” a police massive campaign to recovered loose firearms, in Barangay Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao Thursday.
